\u201cFebruary 22\u201d
\n\u201cIt was February, and I painted every day and every night. The cold was intense, and I listened to the radio to think of nothing else but painting, amidst the voices that added up to an echo, a neutral background.
\nSuddenly, voices of war interrupted everything, like a blade capable of cutting through everything, even visions and utopias. I kept looking at the canvas in front of me but the words coming in changed horizons and portents were revealed in the painting, what took shape in front of me were two opposite directions of a current in the sea, which seemed to face each other and moved the sands, pushing them, until they raised a summit stretched out beyond the spreading reflections on the water, it was like a small island, on which the opposing waves broke and shortly afterwards receded, vanished, absorbed without a trace, and so continuing, wave after wave until once again the sands became covered with water, to re-emerge elsewhere revealing for that brief time a nature that also belongs to our gestures, to our existence, we cannot escape yet from what we are and continue to repeat ourselves in a precise rhythm like the waves of the sea.\u201d<\/p>\n
