“Portrait of Europe” is about an old, tired Europe.
An old Madonna with a baby.
Madonna has grown old, but the child has not grown up.
Will she still be able to raise new generations?
Or will she fall down from fatigue?
Will she have the strength to raise worthy successors? Will a worthy person emerge to raise the greatness of Europe? Or will it be a new dictator who will destroy it?
Or is it too late to change anything in the world, and only new people will silently watch the end of the era of beauty and culture?
These and other questions are raised by my painting.
There are many questions, but no answer…”
