“I wanted to represent Europe in a shimmering drape comprising several shades that interact with each other. These echo the different languages and cultures of Europe.
The drape evokes a banner, a form of flag that rises in the wind, bearing witness to the dynamic union of countries, the breath that diversity offers. The background remains vague, suggesting a nocturnal landscape from which the light of the flag would escape.”
