‘This painting focuses on the abstract idea of a border. Painted from a reference photograph showing the reflection of a window inside a train, one might see two countries in the same image reflected on a single visual plane.
Nostalgically imagining how my parents used to exchange money and have their passports checked to cross the border between Luxembourg and our neighbouring countries, the idea of a border becomes foreign.”
